Resolution systems in RPGs
Submitted by MikeIT on Wed, 09/05/2007 - 18:00.I've heard some people talk about female gamers not being into rolling dice that they'd rather spend their time role-playing. While I don't think it's a valid generalization, I wonder what types of conflict resolution systems Gamer Chicks enjoy. A conflict resolution system is how you accomplish things in an RPG that are not automatic like hitting the orc with your longsword or using your vampiric charm to influence the hapless mortal or making your character recall a piece of information you have forgotten. cuentas forex

D&D Characters
Submitted by Miss_Kat on Sun, 08/26/2007 - 22:24.Okay, I played some D&D last night, but it was with a pre-made character. I finally made my own character today. It took about all day today, but that is due to the being easily distracted-ness of me and my dad. We also had to run to the store, so that took a bit of time. For all who want to know what I am, I am an Elf Sorceress. She's Chaotic Good and her familair is a hawk. Cool Women seeking men online

D&D introduction for women playtest and actual session recap
Submitted by MikeIT on Wed, 08/22/2007 - 17:44.After kicking around multiple ideas on the intro to D&D for women adventure, I finally settled on sticking to something a bit more traditional. In other words, I didn't want to take a lot of time on things that may not be a likely D&D adventure they would play with someone else.

D&D nights of story and D&D nights of hack and slash
Submitted by MikeIT on Sun, 07/29/2007 - 19:05.So I've experienced something that I'm wondering if it's just me, just guys, or across the RPG community. In my D&D group of late, we've mostly spent almost entire evenings trying to figure out what's going on. But every once in a while, I just want to roll some dice and go all RIASTA.

Review: Book of the Righteous
Submitted by MikeIT on Mon, 04/09/2007 - 01:50.This sourcebook published by Green Ronin is a great resource for someone who wants to have a rich religious flavor to their setting without designing your own or bogging down in useless details like the stats of the gods and goddesses. Released in 2002, it is the best sourcebook I own for use in D&D.

One-on-one D&D - A DM's perspective
Submitted by MikeIT on Tue, 04/03/2007 - 01:58.Since we don't currently have any campaigns together, ShoshieB1 asked me to run some D&D for her one-on-one. Running an RPG one-on-one present some unique opportunities as well as some unique challenges. In this story, I'm going to discuss some of them and what I think it'll be like.

GenCon: D&D introduction for women
Submitted by MikeIT on Thu, 03/22/2007 - 13:42.Since I'm the resident D&D expert between ShoshieB1 and me, I told her I would run a session at GenCon to introduce D&D to women and girls. I've got ideas brewing, but this site is a great resource for honing and building ideas from the community on what would be good.

I'm a Gamer Chick, too!
Submitted by Sephera on Thu, 03/01/2007 - 17:19.I've always loved fantasy books. As a girl I read Elfquest. My friends and I even created our own Elfquest characters and wrote stories. I just realized, I guess in our own way we were role playing. I recently found my "character sheet." We had never been exposed to D&D (at least that I know of), but we had names, physical descriptions, interests, secret names, what we were good at, etc.

How we become Gamerchicks.
Submitted by ShoshieB1 on Thu, 03/01/2007 - 16:01.I want to know more about you and what makes you tick. I'll be the first to admit I've been a bit lax myself in writing. I'm unbearably self-conscious about it. But I figure "If I can't even write about myself how can I expect other Gamerchicks to write about themselves, their games, their hopes for future Gamerchick-kind?"
Beginner D&D
Submitted by rin1 on Fri, 02/09/2007 - 12:35.Having dated a gamer for a number of years, I have recently started to foray into hardcore geekdom. I dabble in Magic: The Gathering, and I play a fighter in a small D&D that my man runs. Besides discovering that he doesn't pull any punches with me ("Ouch, the Griffen did what?!?!") I have developed a pretty good sense of strategy, for a beginner. What drives me crazy about starting D&D is simply that, being a beginner. Everyone else has experience with long-term RPGs or D&D itself (one of the other players has been playing since elementary school).
